Google AdWords

Our favorite search engine Google has put on a competition for AdWords.  Most likely when you go to search something on the Internet you are going to go to the search engine Google, right? The fast and simple webpage seems to be most accurate and effective for what we are looking for. Imagine how many people search using Google, and imagine how much response you would get if your ad for your business were to show up on Google?

To sum this up simply, Google AdWords is putting on a global competition for anyone to create their own ads to stick up on Google. Each team chooses a business to focus on and to create an ad for. Each team must have permission from the business in which they choose. For our case, we have recently been involved in a renaming project within our Professional Education branch for Communication Studies at UNCW. Using the information we gather from our pre-competition strategy paper and from our company we create AdWords that we believe encompass the purpose of the company and we place those into Google AdWords. Whoever receives the most response from their business AdWords wins the competition.

Many things are important to do this job effectively. We had to learn much of the brand personality that our company is trying to portray to their public. Our challenge will be choosing words that work as a summary for the business, but also choosing appealing words that people will choose to search on Google. Our professor is challenging us to not only simulate real job projects, but placing us into situations where our group is team that relies on each other to “get the job done”. We are gaining true knowledge in what it is like to be within the IMC job market.

    This is such an interesting yet challenging assignment. One being because you must truly get a feeling and understanding of what the company’s overall mission is. What is it that drives them to be the best at what they do and how is that feeling and emotion translated to its customers?

    One doesn’t really think of the words that encapsulate a particular organization, group, or business. For one reason or another, these words almost appear innately when the party is born. To think of these of these words that others use to discover them can be very difficult, but as long as you’re putting yourself in the shoes of the consumer, ideas can come about bountifully.

    Working off of what Deji said, this assignment seems challenging, yet rewarding once it is complete. It seems that finding the correct words to use to describe an entire company, their goals, morale, etc. while also choosing “searchable” words is almost impossible.
    I commend you all for taking this on and really using the fundamentals of IMC to complete this project. Keep us up-to-date and hope you win!

    I think Google AdWords is a great way to market products. As stated in the blog, a large percent of American’s use google to search for things on the internet. I know i do. Advertisements for products or services that are related to what is being searched is a very smart way to market. Its like using Mosaic to filter which people are interested in certain products, without spending the big bucks to purchase a software.

    The assignment given by Google Adwords is tricky. I agree with the blog that you should incorporate the company’s narrative and personality. This gives a real sense of what the company is all about to the viewers. Appealing words will gain a consumer’s attention, then you can wow them by the summary of what the company has to offer. I agree with Deji that if you put yourself into the consumer’s shoes then the answers will come naturally.

    Google adworks is the newest attempt at google taking over the world. However, I do like what they are doing here and it can be a great way to market new products or build a reputation with costumers. Millions of people visit google dailey so there will be a great amount of traffic for a company’s ad.

    I think your assignment will really show you what it is like to work in the IMC field. This is something that a company would pay individuals to do for them. Getting the consumer’s attention is always important in advertisment. With words and narratives that apply to the target audience you can capture the imagination of your consumers and sell products the best. Google can give your company a large quantaties of people to see your ad, all companies have to do is create the memorable message.

    I agree with pretty much everything has been said, in that t his is a very interesting, yet challenging goal to accomplish, but obviously can be very rewarding. Attempting to sum up and describe a companies mission, goals, etc is extremely tough. Millions of people use Google on an everyday basis so it is a good way to market and network. All you really need to do is think outside the box to create a different and memorable message that sets you aside from your competition to really get the attention of people.

    I find this concept very interesting. For one, allowing consumers to create an ad that’s supposed to represent the company could either be confirming of that company’s great work, or distructive. Either result at least would be sincere.
    This assignment in itself is challenging, but in a positive way. This is a great opportunity to ad to a resume as it provides similar experience in this type of job field. Creativing advertisements and publicity that stands out from competitors is tough, especially in today’s market where consumers are already overwhelmed with product advertisement.
