
Margaux Smith is a current senior at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. She is on track to graduate this spring with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies with a concentration in integrated marketing communication. Margaux likes to spend her free time exercising, going to the beach, and spending time with her friends. In her educational journey, Margaux enjoys the extensive amount of teamwork the communication discipline allows her to strengthen. Along with teamwork, Margaux values the responsibility of student-led classes at the university. In her senior year, she will have served two semesters with UNCW’s student-led IMC firm (Pier601 Creative) with one semester as a VP. Margaux says she has learned the importance of professional communication with clients. She has been able to establish her problem-solving skills and marketing strategies cultured through four years of communication courses at UNCW.
Aside from being a full-time college student, Margaux also works as a Legal Assistant for a law firm in Leland, NC. Here, she completes administrative work, cultivates trusting relationships with clients, and helps provide ideas social media marketing. Her communication style reflects strongly on her working environment. She seeks input and perspective from others before making a final decision. Margaux notes that her Forte primary strength as a communicator is her patience and detail/plan-oriented personality. Although she has only dipped her toes in the social media marketing world, she hopes to extend her current experience in school and work toward a future career path at a marketing firm.
