Speaking the audience’s language.
Joshua Hodges is a freelance French and German translator. He specializes in storytelling and translating narratives in long-form media that require nuance and care. Having grown up in a diverse community with speakers of many different languages, Joshua knows the importance of the culture of communication, and seeks to bridge gaps between people of all kinds.
He taught both Spanish and English at Cape Fear Community College to speakers of various fluency, developing the skills necessary to adapt communication methods to match the audience, and has moderated social media accounts with global audiences. When he’s not spending his time volunteering with local environmental protection groups, he can be found taking care of the chickens and geese at his family farm or raising tropical flora in his flowerbed.
