  1. I think this is such a smart (and fun!) way to engage with students at UNCW! It’s a way to raise awareness about ETEAL, while also showcasing the hard work students put forth every single day here at UNCW. Additionally, while many students will be encouraged to submit for the prizes, they will ultimately be helping to brand UNCW as a school that really encourages opportunities outside the classroom, with hashtags such as #ETEALinternships and #ETEALstudyabroad. I will definitely be checking out the posts as the come in, and who knows, maybe I’ll even submit one!

  2. This is a solid contest and opportunity for the entire campus to get involved with. I mean, who doesn’t love free prizes? I believe that many students will turn out for this and get involved, as it will give them the chance to win free stuff, while simultaneously advertising UNCW. This is a great way to get the public to see various sides of UNCW. It is a great way to portray the branding of the university.

  3. This is a great example of the university using social media as a marketing tool. Our generation is so big on social media that our school, and many others, have taken to platforms like instagram and twitter. Social media is a great tool to reach out to students and make them aware of different events on campus.

  4. This contest is very good marketing because it gets people interested in ETEAL, which is something we don’t hear a lot about, so offering some sort of winning or incentive for learning and using a platform you use every day is very smart.

  5. this is so cool! I am glad I had our blog assignment since I often forget about this forum. I wish so badly I could take part in it!! but since im not going on my study abroad trip until the end of may! so I missed out! im definitely going to have some awesome pictures when I come back so there should be another contest! if there is comment back and let me know!!

  6. This seems like a fun competition and I’ll definitely encourage some of my fellow classmates to participate in this!

  7. I would like to say you have done a great job with advertising ETEAL. I feel like I have heard more about this year than I ever have. Hopefully I can enter in a photo and maybe win a prize!

  8. This is a cool idea! I might have to get in on this contest, I could really use a parking pass upgrade! Haha!

  9. Thank you all for creating a contest for UNCW students to show of the applied learning opportunities on our campus!

  10. This is a great post. It lets people get a good idea about eteal. This was my fist semester at UNCW and i had no idea about it. You gave all the important data that was needed and i really appreciate that.

  11. I really like this idea for a contest. It allows students to create a thoughtful and creative piece of work that can show off their skills as communicators by giving them an outlet to do so. It is also a genius move by the marketing department of the university. What better way to get free content from people who interact with the UNCW community on a daily basis than by offering up a competition?

  12. This contest sounds great! I think it seems like a good way to get the word out about ETEAL while driving social media traffic! I haven’t seen much about it on social media yet, but I’m sure I will closer to the contest. I really love the graphic!

  13. I love how our IMC classes use these things like instagram and facebook to stay relevant in todays social media world. I like how we even have hashtags to connect it to a bigger system so we can all see posts relating that others may have tired to do to win.

  14. I am currently taking COM 232 and today in class someone came in and made an announcement about the ETEAL contest since we are using applied learning in our class. We are working with a company call Elite Innovations where we are making press releases, blogs, and other marketing material for the company. It was interesting to know that some of the material that we have created can be used for this contest.
